Poverty in America: 50 Year Anniversary of THE OTHER AMERICA

It is the 50th Anniversary of DSA founder Michael Harrington's THE OTHER AMERICA, the classic analysis of poverty in America which helped launch the "war on poverty."  Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) will be organizing a serious of events nation wide to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Other America, and draw attention to the successes, and failures, of the Kennedy/Johnson "war on poverty" and policies to address poverty over the past five decades. (Check back for more information, more articles, and upcoming events in Memphis.)
